Connecting NDG Residents and Resources
The NDG Community Listing is a new project by the NDG Community Council aimed at bringing valuable resources closer to NDG residents and organizations. Our online resource center provides up-to-date information on topics and services that impact your daily life and community well-being. Accessible to all, the platform is a comprehensive, user-friendly tool where you can find resources and services organized by subject, including events, local services, volunteer opportunities, job offers, and more. The "NDG Community Listing" project, launched by the NDG Community Council, aims to strengthen and empower local community groups through capacity building. The NDG Community Council, as a Table de quartier, is launching this new tool in line with NDG Community Action Plan under Priority C on Axis 2: "Increase the visibility of our individual and collective work."
The newsletter will be sent monthly on the last Monday.
The Objective of this new tool is to share updates on new projects , initiatives, funding opportunities, workshops, training, etc . In addition, we will be highlighting new staff members and our achievements. Feel free to share it and invite your colleagues to subscribe!

HISTORY
Fall 2019 - March 2020
This project began with a vision—an idea to enhance community engagement and support within NDG. The initial draft involved brainstorming and planning, considering how to bring the community together in a meaningful way. It was about creating a space for connection, resources, and empowerment. The project's early stages focused on the planning phase, where we carefully mapped out the categories and subcategories that would serve as the foundation for our community directory. Each category was thoughtfully designed to encompass the diverse needs and interests of NDG. The goal was to make information and resources easily accessible to everyone in the community. With the categories in place, we were one step closer to building a platform that would serve as a hub for local businesses, community groups, and residents to connect, collaborate, and thrive together.

The platform has shown significant growth in its "findability" since its full launch in 2024. Its visibility is driven primarily by its role as a specialized local directory.
The site acts as a powerful "local citation" for community groups, meaning it helps them show up in Google searches even if they don't have their own high-ranking websites.

Impressions: The site recorded approximately 804,000 Google impressions over a one-year period.

Search Traffic: It generated 13,700 organic clicks from Google in a year, with search being the largest driver of traffic (roughly 65% of monthly visits).
- Monthly Traffic: Averaging around 3,000 visits per month, indicating a dedicated core of active users.
